'Dancing grannies' celebrate opening of Specsavers in Tottenham

Members of the public were left squinty in disbelief last week as two elderly women were seen jubilantly jiving outside 514 High Road, Tottenham.

The ‘dancing grannies’, famous for their television advert, were in North London to mark the opening of Specsavers’ latest branch and performed in front of a small crowd which included former Mayor of Haringey, Councillor Eddie Griffith.

Bringing eye care and audiology services to a new part of the capital, the nine-strong team will be led by directors Aayan Gunasingam, Anar Desai and Archana Kanabar.

Aayan said: ‘We are very committed to providing local people with a high level of professional service to meet their healthcare needs. Our new store will include four eye examination testing rooms and a hearing service, and all the latest technology and equipment.

The Tottenham branch will feature innovative technology in the form of a digital precision eye care service. Using a handheld tablet with special software, staff will ensure that patients have appropriate lenses by calculating their facial measurements.
