A Specsavers practice invited its local mayor for a re-opening after spending £100,000 on a modernisation project that included a new consulting room, iPads and a sound-proof hearing test room.

Specsavers Aldershot has also employed two additional members of staff and increased its choice of frames to more than 1,000 designs.

The Mayor of Rushmoor, Councillor Peter Crerar, cut the ribbon for the 16-year-old practice, which also ran a one-month promotion for free eye tests.
