Optical equipment manufacturer, Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), has relaunched the Perkins Mk 3 hand-held applanation tonometer after discontinuing it earlier this year. HS-UK said the product was being brought back by popular demand and would be supplied again to customers in the UK and abroad.
The portable Perkins Mk3 was specifically conceived to examine patients who have often presented challenges to assess by traditional tonometry methods. It is compatible with the Tonosafe disposable tonometer prism and can also be paired with reusable Goldmann tonometer prisms.
The company said its lightweight design made it ideal for measuring intraocular pressure, even if the patient was lying down, and built-in LED illumination meant it was effective even in low-light environments.
