Haine & Smith practices help children from Eastern Europe

The staff at Haine & Smith Opticians have been working with some special patients from out of town Ð children from Eastern Europe.
The team in Devizes, Wiltshire played host to a group of teachers and teenagers (pictured below) from Lesko, a rural town in Poland. The practice carried out free eye examinations and supplied spectacles. Optometrist Sarah Brind said: ÔItÕs great that we can provide these children with the eye care that they lack in their own country.Õ
A group of children from Chernobyl in the Ukraine also visited the Haine & Smith Westbury practice as part of a holiday arranged by the Chernobyl Children Life Line charity. The team carried out free eye examinations and supplied spectacles. The children are spending a month in the county studying language and customs.
Staff member Hayley Camp commented: It is vital that these children have regular comprehensive eye examinations, as eye defects are common when people are exposed to nuclear radiation.Õ
