Multi-disciplinary primary care provider the Health Clinic has opened a flagship practice in LondonÕs Shaftesbury Avenue on the site of the former Eye Clinic.
The practice will offer optometry services, laser vision correction, dentist, doctor, physiotherapy, chiropody and complementary therapies such as reflexology.
Clinical director Alan Dalton said the companyÕs approach of bringing different disciplines together in high-street locations was proving successful.
ÔThere is a natural link between the services, and by aligning the other professions we are raising the profile of optometry,Õ he said.
By addressing patientsÕ wider health needs, client relationships are established on health grounds and not on a price-led product basis, he commented.
He revealed many Health Clinic optometrists want to take extra responsibilities and be involved in its laser vision correction services.
There are 15 Health Clinics currently, with new branches planned to open at the rate of six a year.
on existing Eye Clinic premises. Two other Health Clinic outlets Ð in Milton Keynes and Southampton Ð open this month.
