In Focus: Report sheds light on hidden impact of hearing loss

New data from Specsavers has found better access to hearing care could boost workplace productivity for millions of UK workers. 

The multiple’s 2024 hearing health report, ‘It’s time to talk about hearing,’ found 35% of 2,000 people surveyed reported hearing difficulties at work and a further 20% said they had considered leaving or changing their jobs due to hearing issues.  

Millions of workers have admitted that hearing loss was impeding their ability to do their job, yet almost 64% still have not had a hearing check for various reasons. For 26%, they considered it unnecessary, while 25% felt their hearing difficulties were not severe enough to warrant a test.
