The July 4 event will feature new skills workshops on subjects such as PR and merchandising, along with a 40 company strong exhibition.
Nick Atkins commented: 'Over the last few years Independents Day has become a top-class business symposium and is clearly not run as a CET event. However, we recognise that the availability of the odd point or two as a result of attendance is useful for some of our delegates. As such, we are grateful to Essilor, Johnson & Johnson and Hoya for providing CET as part of their workshops.'
