Exhibitors at last month's Vision Expo East (VEE) in New York urged optical practices to use product innovation to help restore industry growth rates to pre-recession levels.
'It has been a tough time for the optical sector with the recession, but I feel it is also a great opportunity for innovative products and technologies to drive the industry in new directions,' said Larry Rodriguez, senior vice president of sales and marketing at PixelOptics. 'New and innovative products that excite people can kickstart the industry back to historical growth rates.'
David Rose, vice president of design and manufacturing at Salt Optics, added that optical practices in the UK could particularly benefit by looking for products that would differentiate them from competitors.
