Pre-registration optometrists are being offered the chance to attend a two-day training course at City University in early February next year.

The Acuvue Clinic - run by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care - will be a mix of lectures, workshops and tutorials covering a variety of topics such as soft and rigid contact lens fitting, tonometry, visual fields and the use of therapeutic drugs.

In addition, certificates of competency will be issued in RGP lens fitting, slit-lamp techniques and contact tonometry. These can be used as secondary evidence by assessors when signing off competencies.

The course is free for Acuvue Centre of Excellence practices. For further information contact Vicky Lygoe on 0207 344 1251.
