Lab backs fast reaction claim

Lenses

Carl Zeiss Vision (CZV) has reported that test results from the US show its PhotoFusion self-tinting lenses react noticeably quicker to the prevailing light conditions than comparable lenses with Transitions Technology.

The June 2011 test results from research company Colts Laboratories demonstrated this conclusively, said CZV, with PhotoFusion darkening in 15-30 seconds, up to 20 per cent faster than comparable self-tinting lenses with Transitions Technology. It added that PhotoFusion lenses also lightened up to 50 per cent quicker than comparable lenses with Transitions Technology, a process that took five to 10 minutes.

Dr Raymund Heinen, CEO of CZV International said: 'Providing people with a better vision experience has been the goal of Carl Zeiss for more than 160 years and to ensure we succeed in that it has also been our goal that Zeiss products represent the latest state of the art. We are very proud that Colts Laboratories has confirmed this fact for the reaction time of PhotoFusion.'
