Leightons Opticians has revealed a revamped practice in Hampshire which will blend optometry and audiology in a single centre of excellence which, the firm claimed, offers a new proposition in care for the community.
The stunning new store, which underwent a £120,000 refit, is located in The Mall, in Chandlers Ford and adopts the brick, sleek glass and fuscia feel of Leightons’ flagship Putney practice (30.05.14). As well as adopting the new Leightons’ look the practice will also act as an enhanced audiology centre with the recent acquisition of Hampshire Hearing, an audiology provider originally based a mile away from the Mall.
Two hearing audiologists from Hampshire Hearing will be based in the new practice which the company said would create a new combine care proposition for the local community with audiology patients transferred from the Old HH practice. ‘The fresh new look aims to re-establish Leightons as the destination optician and audiology centre in the community. Combining audiology and optical in a seamless and stylish way, helps to create a real point of difference for the brand whilst better serving the needs of a fashion-focused younger market,’ it said.
Leightons CEO, and grandson of the founder, Ryan Leighton said: ‘Last year we made the decision to close our Eastleigh store, not an easy decision and instead create a larger store, with more products and services in Chandlers Ford with the same friendly, professional team. One year on we are very pleased with the progress made; it’s created a really eye-catching store which has allowed us to improve and enlarge the clinical area, adding two consulting rooms as well as a dedicated audiology suite. Now with the acquisition of Hampshire Hearing the new store really does bring our philosophy to life: To See. To Hear. To Live.’
