Renee Bansal has taken on a second Leightons franchise as part of a £250,000 investment in a new opticians and hearing care practice in Reading’s Queen Victoria Street

ReneRenee Bansal has taken on a second Leightons franchise as part of a £250,000 investment in a new opticians and hearing care practice in Reading’s Queen Victoria Street.

Both Bansal, who runs the Putney practice, and Leightons have a long association with the town, a company statement said. The opening marks 50 years in Reading for Leightons while Bansal, who has lived in the town for 20 years and started his professional career there in a Leightons practice 20 years ago.

The extensive refurbishment includes dedicated audiology and optical suites with latest equipment. Leightons formerly had a presence in the area from its former home in Oxford Street, Reading.

‘The practice in Reading has undergone an extensive three-month refurbishment and I’m delighted with the finished result,’ said Bansal. ‘I think Reading needed something that was different and there isn’t another business like it in the area. I think it will be really well received by people in Reading.’

Ryan Leighton, CEO of Leightons Opticians and Hearing Care, added: ‘I am incredibly proud to help to re-energise and re-launch the practice. We’re all really looking forward to building a highly clinical, caring, centre of excellence that will flourish for a further fifty years in Reading.’
