The LOC Central Support Unit has pledged to work with other optical bodies to promote eye health across the UK by becoming the latest member of the Eye Health Alliance.
Georgina Gordon, head of unit, commented: 'The Eye Health Alliance is a demonstration of the sector working together to further the interests of the professions. The more we can work collaboratively, especially in relation to the NHS, the stronger our chances of success in providing new enhanced services and improve the eye health of the nation.'
An Eye Health Alliance statement said that promoting eye health to people across the UK is a task that requires 'joined up thinking and action on a local and national level'.
