SeeAbility has teamed up with the Eye Health Alliance by becoming it latest member.
The charity, which specialises in enabling the blind and partially sighted to achieve more from life, hopes that the link-up will help to raise the profile of its core objectives at a national level.
SeeAbility's chief executive, David Scott-Ralphs, said this development would also help the charity to highlight the plight of its representative group in terms of getting adequate access to eye care services.
'Becoming a new member of the Eye Health Alliance is important as it reinforces our work,' he said.
Heather Marshall, a spokeswoman for the Eye Health Alliance, commented: 'Membership of the Alliance comes at an exciting and opportunistic time in the political calendar, as we gear up to make a lasting impact at party conferences this year.'
