Marchon will manufacture and distribute frames and sunglasses for Italian luxury brand Fendi. The company has been a licensee for 14 years, but is now adding the brand to its stable of eyewear names which include Calvin Klein and Nike because of its improved 'product development, production and international distribution capabilities'.
Managing director Andy Cockayne said that Fendi was a 'fantastic' addition to the company's portfolio, and gave it a stronger European bias, a reason cited for its departure from the Donna Karan brand.
The second signing is American brand Michael Kors. Not as well known in Europe, the label is strong in the US, and has been worn by many celebrities at recent events.
