
Designer and manufacturer of optical machinery, Mei, announced a ‘significant expansion’ of its global operations, which was said to reflect its commitment to growth and innovation.
Stefano Sonzogni, president of Mei, stated: ‘We believe the relationship and assistance to our clients are fundamental. Therefore, we are undertaking an important expansion effort both in Italy and abroad.’
In Italy, Mei’s headquarters will double in size from 10,000 to 20,000 square metres, while in the US, the new headquarters will triple the size of the current facilities.
Additionally, Mei has reinforced its presence in Brazil, with the opening of a 500-square metre headquarters in Sao Paulo.
The company has also expanded into key markets, including Tokyo, and has begun establishing a stronger foothold in Southeast Asia, with new offices in Hong Kong and a new headquarters under construction in Bangalore, known as the 'Silicon Valley of India'.
Looking ahead, Mei planned to continue expanding internationally, consolidating its production capabilities, introducing new products and driving commercial efforts in the Middle East, Oceania, the US and South America.
