Mido's 41st exhibition (March 4-6) is to run alongside three other international fashion-related trade fairs (Micam, Mipel and Mifur) and has confirmed the participation of the industry's leading manufacturers.
The three-day show, with extended hours, promises pavilions dedicated to each sector - lenses, machines, accessories, frames, large and small companies, traditional and cutting edge.
A new layout for the show opens out into a series of themed plazas to give improved and immediate access to the exhibitors. Visitors to the show will also have access to a new app for iPhones, iPads and other smartphones that can provide details on getting to the fair, the location of favourite stands and details and images of the styles on display.
As well as bringing back the Mido Design Lab, featuring the most avant garde manufacturers, there is a new exhibition area called Mido Fashion District, a plaza where the storefront of each of the high profile manufacturers looks out on the central forum. This area has been staged under the creative eye of architect and designer Francesco Pagliariccio, with the layout in a circle to evoke spectacles and lenses.
The lens and machinery pavilion has an area dedicated to developments in health and innovation. Organisers added that there would also be an anti-counterfeiting service in place at the fair.
