Alain Mikli International (AMI) has taken a 75 per cent stake in the owner and developer of the Vuarnet sunwear brand, Sportoptic Pouilloux.
Mikli (right in the picture), plans to revamp the sports sunglass brand, which has seen turnover fall from €28m in 1990 to €10m in 2009. The first Vuarnet collection designed by Alain Mikli will be launched in 2011, having been presented in September 2010.
Mikli has announced an objective of a €140m turnover for all brands by 2013, with AMI's current worldwide turnover at €52m, split between frames (80 per cent) and sunglasses (20 per cent).
