Silhouette has released an augmented reality application named iMirror for the Apple iPad 2 and iPhone 4, which allows patients to try on frames from the Silhouette range in 3D using the device's front-facing camera.
Users hold the device in front of them at arm's length and the application places selected frames on their face. Patients can tilt their heads and view themselves from a variety of angles and 3D and face tracking technology in the application changes the appearance of the frame as they move. Pictures can be sent to the patient via the application so they can seek the opinions of friends and family.
