Moorfields Eye Hospital has hosted an international gathering of glaucoma experts at the Royal College of Physicians.
The meeting was held on January 26-27 and attracted 295 delegates in London, together with another 300 who participated via the webcast.
Topics included neuroprotection and stem cells/genetics, ocular surface and medical treatment and discussion on new surgical devices.
The event also included a 'Glaucoma Idol' competition in which five fellows battled it out by each giving a case presentation to a panel of experts. Keith Barton, recently elected chairman of the International Glaucoma Association, said: 'This is the sixth year we have run the Moorfields International Glaucoma Symposium which is one of the highest profile meetings dedicated to glaucoma in Europe.'
