The good news is that competition will take place against the background of a growing market for ophthalmic services and optical goods. According to Ophthalmic Goods & Services from Key Note the market for optical goods grew by 11.2 per cent from 2006 until 2009 to stand at £2.93bn and, despite tough market conditions, this growth will continue. Between 2010 and 2014 Key Note expects the market to grow to £3.33bn.
