Glasses Direct founder Jamie Murray Wells has been invited to speak at this year's Independents Day meeting, on July 4 at The National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
Show organisers Proven Track Record (PTR), concede that the decision to ask Murray Wells to speak to independents at the event entitled 'Professional fees: a price worth paying?' will undoubtedly 'raise a few eyebrows'.
'Glasses Direct and their like may be the latest in-coming fire aimed at the optical profession,' said David Goad co-director of PTR, 'but what James Murray Wells is doing isn't illegal or immoral and how many of us can say we have never bought something on the internet because its was cheaper than the high street?
