Carl Zeiss Vision has launched a new single-vision lens named Superb. The new lens uses freeform technology, which the manufacturer claimed allowed for more precision compared to conventional single-vision lenses, resulting in clear and sharp vision over the entire lens.
The new lenses are designed for each patient's prescription, including sphere, cyl, axis, prism and prism base. Point-by-point optimisation is applied over the entire lens surface, creating what was said to be fewer power errors in the lens periphery and allowing for more precise optical images and improved visual comfort for the patient.
'Zeiss single-vision Superb lenses provide high-definition visual acuity for the wearer, as point-by-point optimisation of the Rx lens design generated by our freeform technology, delivers higher levels of relaxed vision and wearing comfort for patients,' said Peter Robertson, marketing and communications director, Carl Zeiss Vision.
