Specsavers is continuing its expansion in New Zealand with the opening of six new stores and plans for a network of 30 stores nationwide by the end of 2009.

Specsavers is continuing its expansion in New Zealand with the opening of six new stores and plans for a network of 30 stores nationwide by the end of 2009.

The expansion in New Zealand follows the company's success in Australia where it currently has 140 stores.

Specsavers founder Doug Perkins said: 'In Australia, where we opened 100 stores in 100 days, we witnessed the fastest growth we've ever experienced in any country to date, which was telling, as prices there were the highest we had encountered. Given New Zealand prices are just as high as they were in Australia a year ago, we're expecting a similar response from consumers there.'
