Newmedica has opened a multi-million pound clinic in Whiteley, Hampshire, to provide timely access to cataracts, glaucoma and ocular plastics treatments for NHS and private patients.
Whiteley town councillor Mike Evans, Winchester City councillor Vivian Achwal and Newmedica managing director, Rebecca Lythe were among those attending the official opening ceremony on November 2.
The clinic, run by consultant ophthalmologists Serafeim Antonakis, Bhaskar Gupta, Varajini Joganathan and Aby Jacobs, plus operational director Chris Berry, has already treated 250 people since opening in September.
Berry, pictured back right, said: ‘We’re delighted to be operating at full capacity now for the wider Hampshire public. Our staff all have strong links locally and we’re keen to support the community the best we can.
