Mr Graves came from an optical family and worked as a trainee in the Leonard Swann practice in Southall, Middlesex in the early 1950s, taking over the the practice after Mr Swann's retirement. He was also secretary to the West London Association of Optometrists for many years. After retirement, Mr Graves worked part-time as a house practitioner in Hillingdon. Mr Graves leaves a wife and two grown-up children. Prize winners Spyros Konstantakopoulos (left) is presented with his prize as captain of the winning team of the Butterworth-Heinemann Case Analysis Cup by clinic director Dr David Elliott at this year's University of Bradford graduation ceremony. Also members of the team were Richard Fielding, Penny Harrison, Sameena Haque, Sally Jones and Janelle King. Other prizewinners at the graduation ceremony included Sarvat Fida (The Yorkshire Optical Society Prize and Hydron Prize), Atif Mahmood (The AOP Prize and the Boots Opticians Prize), Charlotte Brook (Larard Prize), Irfaan Adamally (The Kelvin Prize), Vijay Anand (The Bausch & Lomb Prize), Hannah Gardner (The Essilor Prize) and Philip Banton (The Tom Steele Memorial Prize).
