Obituary: Maurice Zack

Optician is sad to report that optometrist and founder of Zacks Eye Clinic in London, Maurice Zack, passed away on March 19, 2024 aged 86.

Practice colleagues said Zack was loved by all and would be missed by friends and patients, as well as his wife of 57 years, Coral, and their children and grandchildren.

Zack graduated in 1959 with diplomas from the British Optical Association and the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers.

He went on to specialise in contact lens practice at City University and the London Refraction Hospital gaining the advanced diploma of the British Optical Association in 1966.

In 1968, Zack opened his practice on Warren Street in central London and during his career, he performed clinical trials and published several papers.
