The first will take place on June 18 in Leeds, replacing the cancelled BCLA event, and the course has been awarded seven CET credits, of which six are contact lens related.
A yet to be named ACLM-sponsored speaker will show how a successful contact lens practice can still be developed despite today's competitive commercial environment.
OEL's managing director David Ruston said: 'We are dedicated to the higher standards of CET and many of our speakers are authorities in contact lenses and anterior segment pathology.
'As such, running our own contact lens courses is a natural progression now that we won't be competing against the BCLA who were previously our clients.
'We feel that it would be wrong to leave practitioners in the lurch when CET for contact lens work is so essential.'
