Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is continuing its support of the Olympics following its sponsorship of the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games.
It is becoming an Official Partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Worldwide Partner of the International Olympic Committee.
The agreement with the IOC includes sponsorship rights in connection with over 200 National Olympic Committees and national Olympics teams and over the next year the company plans to use its association to highlight the importance of vision correction for performance in sport.
‘This is a historic time for Johnson & Johnson as we make an extensive, company-wide commitment to the Olympic Games,’ said J&J chairman and CEO William C. Weldon. ‘We are excited about the opportunity to deepen our strong, established ties in China, Italy, throughout Europe, the United States and around the world, through our businesses in consumer and personal health care products, and medical devices and diagnostics products.’
