Optometry Northern Ireland (ONI) has prepared an inaugural advertising campaign to coincide with the launch of National Eye Health Week 2015 later this month (September 21)

David BarnesOptometry Northern Ireland (ONI) has prepared an inaugural advertising campaign to coincide with the launch of National Eye Health Week 2015 later this month (September 21).

Using the strapline of ‘50% of Sight Loss is Preventable’, the campaign was to stress the importance of visiting an optometrist, a message communicated by street liner posters on buses and 48 strategically placed sheet billboards.

Optometrist David Barnes (pictured), chair of ONI, said: 'The public need to know the pivotal role we play in Primary Healthcare, with prompt referrals of patients with Sight Threatening conditions which can result in prevention of Sight Loss in over 50 per cent of cases.’
