The General Optical Council (GOC) will assess optometrist Lisa Anne Stewart's fitness to practise after she allegedly failed to undertake key tests on a patient she examined on March 8, 2007 or properly complete a record card.

A substantive hearing on February 16 will be held by the Council's fitness to practise committee to hear the allegations against Stewart including how in the consultation she did not carry out an ocular motor balance examination or carry out measurements relating to HVID, VPA, pupil size, K readings and eye dominance.

Stewart is also alleged to have failed to check the trial contact lens fitting in situ or carry out a visual acuity check in advance of the patient leaving the practice. Other allegations include not correctly recording information on the pre-printed contact lens assessment card, or recording details of the slit lamp examination.
