OO conditions extended

Optometrist Aveline Horton has had her current period of conditional registration extended by six months by the General Optical Council's fitness to practise committee.

Although eight conditions had been observed by Horton, she also admitted two breaches. The committee said there 'remained a real risk to patient safety if the registrant was permitted to practice without any monitoring of her condition'.

Horton's conditional registration will be extended from December 6 2012, the date her existing conditions from a review in April expire.
