Optometrist Fiaz Haque was killed in the stampede tragedy in Saudi Arabia. He was 38.

Mr Haque had travelled with the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and died on January 12 along with over 300 others.

The London-based practitioner worked for Specsavers Opticians, and co-founder Mary Perkins said everyone has been deeply shocked by his tragic death.

'On behalf of Specsavers and all his staff at the two Ealing stores and his many colleagues in the Carlton region, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this terrible time.

'Fiaz worked for Specsavers for over 10 years as the director of the Ealing Broadway and West Ealing stores. He was a well-respected director and will be greatly missed by all his colleagues and customers alike.

'During his time with Specsavers, Fiaz worked tirelessly for a number of causes, including fundraising to help the victims of last year's earthquake in Pakistan. In memory of Fiaz we will also be making a charitable donation to this cause.'

Kamlesh Gohil, Fiaz Haque's business partner, said: 'He has left a large void and will be sorely missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.'
