
Eye care provider Optegra appointed Alastair Stuart as UK medical director, while Amir Hamid has been promoted to chief medical officer.
Stuart has worked at Optegra for three years, with 15 years experience as an ophthalmic surgeon and is a specialist in cataract and refractive surgery.
Stuart highlighted that he would prioritise patient outcomes and safety, whilst ensuring the treatment pathways which have progressed and developed over time continue to be upheld.
'We constantly review and analyse our outcomes and as Medical Director I will be responsible for holding us accountable to the high standards we have set. I will strive to ensure that all business decisions are made with the patient at the forefront,' he said.
Stuart also commended Hamid's work as medical director, saying he was 'grateful to him for putting the company in such a good position,' and aimed to continue progress.
