Opti community praised for show’s success

Messe München in Germany’s Bavarian capital welcomed 21,105 visitors to Opti on January 31 to February 2, which was slightly down on the 21,500 in 2024.

Cathleen Kabashi, head of Opti, said the event remained on course for success and attributed this to the strong community it had formed with stakeholders.

‘Combining our information hubs in the Opti Hub Arena and the joint platform for contact lens manufacturers, Tomorrow Vision, met with a very good response from visitors and exhibitors alike. And confirmed to us that both the concept and Opti as an annual kick-off are a success.’

Organisers GHM said the exhibition featured 330 exhibitors from 23 countries across four halls and 97% of exhibitors rated the visitor quality as good or very good.

A strong showing of newcomers in the Opti Box area of the show included Ffin Eyewear from Wales, Spanish brand Barcelunettes and Taylor with Respect from Japan with Berlin-based children’s brand Manti Manti named the Opti Box winner by a panel of judges.

For the first time at Opti, the Opti Frame Star was chosen by visitors who voted from 50 frame entrants using a QR code with Munic Eyewear from Munich named the winner.

Opti will return to Messe München on January 16-18 in 2026.
