Optical Express completes first CET events

The lecture and peer-review events toured the UK

Two hundred eye care professionals have attended the first round of Optical Express’ new CET programme.

Attendees at an initial 15-event series heard about technology used in advanced eye surgery procedures, such as femtosecond lasers, modern day intraocular lens designs, dry eye treatment Lipiflow and corneal cross linking for keratoconus.

Starting in Glasgow, the lecture and peer-review events toured the UK covering cities including Inverness, Liverpool, Southampton and London.

Dispensing opticians, optometrists and ophthalmologists from various multiples, independent practices and the NHS were all in attendance, with participants given a voucher for a family member or friend to have a free vision correction or dry eye procedure.

Optical Express’ professional development director Geraldine Meade said: ‘The optical industry is very dynamic and with constant developments in technology and practices, keeping on top of your game is more important than ever. With Optical Express’ CET programme, optical professionals have access to individuals leading the way in developing and improving refractive surgery that they otherwise may not have.’
