A network of GPs with an interest in eye health has been formed following the selection of ageing and sight loss as a clinical priority for the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) last year. The GP Eye Health Network was to be jointly led by the RCGP and the UK Vision Strategy, with network members receiving regular news bulletins, resources, and invites to training and networking events.
Professor Bruce Evans has been named as the keynote speaker for next year’s Fresh Eyes conference. His lecture ‘Communication in optometry ? mind reading and time travel in the consulting room’ was added to the schedule for York Racecourse in March 2014. College of Optometrists president Dr Kamlesh Chauhan said: ‘The programme and social events will give our new professionals a valuable opportunity to learn from each other, network, and share their experiences of life in practice.’
