British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) members will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the invention of soft contact lenses at the 8th BCLA Pioneers Conference on November 23 at the Royal Society of Medicine in London. The event is approved for a total of four contact lens CET points. Speakers include Dr Bruce Allan, David O'Brart and Dr Eef van der Worp, who will talk on new approaches to keratoconus and cross-linking among other topics. In addition, historians Tim Bowden and Andrew Gasson will give an appreciation of the first 50 years of contact lenses. To register, call the BCLA office on 020 7580 6661.
