Alcon announced that the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has made a preliminary recommendation recognising the use of Jetrea intravitreal injection for the treatment of vitreomacular traction with macular hole of less than or equal to 400 microns. There was currently no pharmacological treatment for the condition, the company said.
