Wearable technology firm Innovega demonstrated prototypes of its mega-pixel eyewear at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week. The US company showcased the contact lens-enabled iOptik system, which displays a ‘virtual canvas’ for wearers to view media and applications. Innovega’s product first made headlines two years ago (News 10.02.12), and joins other concepts such as Google Glass in the fledgling wearable display market.

Eye health professionals have been asked to provide online feedback on new guidance from the College of Optometrists before February 21. A major revision of its Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Professional Conduct was released for review this week. Having already consulted on Communications, Partnership and Team Work, the College was now seeking feedback on its Knowledge, Skills and Performance domain, which covers topics including the routine eye examination, it said.
