Optical professionals and businesses have been reminded to renew their GOC registration before the March deadline. Retention fees have increased by £30 to £290 for the coming year (News 22.11.13) while failure to renew by March 31 would lead to removal from the register, the GOC stressed. Those missing an initial March 15 deadline face a £20 late application fee.

Equipment supplier Keeler and The Association for Independent Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (AIO) are to hold a one-day event entitled ‘Pressures?’. It will take place at the Keeler Manufacturing Facility in Windsor on February 10, and will include a tour of the factory, product reviews and an afternoon business session.
