OptomsTour-of-Yorkshire_Startline-2014Charity group Optoms Cycling for Sight has changed its name to Optics Cycling for Sight (OC4S) as it called on fundraisers to take on this year’s challenge.

OC4S has called on volunteers to contribute to a target of 25,000 miles between now and World Sight Day on October 8.

Last year’s activities reached 9,000 miles, and thanks to matching funds from Essilor UK raised £24,000 for people with no access to eye care services. Cycling can be done alone, on a static bike or as part of group.

Donna Power, Optometry Giving Sight regional manager Europe, said: ‘It’s such a great way to get fit whilst making a direct impact to others lives. What’s great is that there’s no restriction on mileage, participants can do whatever their comfortable with, and wherever they want.’
