Between August 15 and 25 the optical profession is invited to support Optoms Cycling for Sight by making a donation or getting on their bike.
The initiative, started by optometry students, aims to raise £25,000 by encouraging those in the profession to cycle a distance of their choice and raise £1 per mile for Optometry Giving Sight along the way.
As a finale Fares Hatoum (pictured) will attempt to ride from London to Paris in 24 hours. To make a donation for this epic feat go to www.justgiving.com/teams/oc4s.
Last year’s OC4S challenge saw optometry students cycle 800 miles, stopping at each optometry department and raising more than £3,000, with support from companies including Specsavers, Eyecare 3000 and Topcon.
