The UK's first ever Vision Strategy will give optics the opportunity to put an end to old rivalries and take a step towards a unified programme to prevent avoidable sight loss, according to the Eyecare Trust.
The aim of the strategy, which is officially unveiled on April 18 and has the backing of the optical bodies, is to establish a unified framework for action on all issues relating to vision across the UK.
Optometrists, ophthalmol-ogists and orthoptists have had an opportunity to help shape the strategy, by contributing to a consultation which closed at the end of January this year.
