Practitioners are being urged to play a key role in determining policies for the vision and sight loss sector with the publication of the UK's first ever Vision Strategy consultation document next week.
The purpose of the UK Vision Strategy is to establish a unified framework for action on all issues relating to vision, across the UK. The government has pledged its support for the initiative which will be officially launched by the Health Minister Ivan Lewis.
The draft document will be available from November 1. Twelve key priorities have been identified and grouped under four strategic areas:
