Optometric trainers wanted in Scotland

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is inviting tenders to provide optometric training in three areas with funding up to £150,000 on offer per tender.

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is inviting tenders to provide optometric training in three areas with funding up to £150,000 on offer per tender.

The training areas will reflect responsibilities for optometrists outlined in the new General Ophthalmic Services (Scotland) contract. Courses will be free to practitioners and will be accredited for CET points.

The course titles are: Recording Keeping in Compliance with the Regulations General Medicine and its Relationship with Optometry and On-going Optometric Core Skills Training.

An invitation to tender pack, can be found at www.nes.scot.nhs.uk/tenders/default.asp. Interested parties must apply by September 15 2009.

NES is also holding a 'suppliers forum' on September 7 in Edinburgh aimed at providers of optometric training and education who are interested in receiving advice on how to win business with NES.
