Exhibitors at next year's Optrafair exhibition in Birmingham (April 18-20) are being warned to be on their guard for scams offering insertions into a show guide that has no connection to the UK's official flagship optical exhibition.
Letters from Expo-guide purport to offer an update to exhibiting firms for their insertion in the company's existing entry in the exhibitors directory. It described this as being essential to guarantee problem-free communication with visitors. The letter encourages recipients to sign the form to ensurs their details are correct. Signing the letter commits the company to three year's worth of insertions costing Euros 1,271 per year for three years - well over £3,000.
