Oriel designs launched

Moorfields released the images for National Eye Health Week

Designs of what the planned Oriel facility in Camden, London will look like have been released for the first time as part of National Eye Health Week (September 21-27).

Oriel is a joint initiative between Moorfields Eye Hospital, UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and the Moorfields Eye Charity that would see services brought together at a purpose-built centre.

A public consultation is currently taking place and a planning application is due to be submitted to Camden Council this autumn, with a slated opening date of 2025-26.

David Probert, chief executive of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: ‘Sight loss is an increasing reality for many of us and this week is an ideal time to get people thinking about healthy vision. We really want to hear about what matters most in the provision of eye care alongside the delivery of a world-class research facility.’
