Ocuco-sponsored Irish sprinter looks to secure his third consecutive title

With the 2016 Paralympics in Rio getting under way this week (September 9), attention will be on Ocuco-sponsored Irish sprinter Jason Smyth as he looks to secure his third consecutive Paralympic 100m title.

Smyth, who lost his vision when he was eight years old through Stargardt disease, has been dubbed ‘the fastest Paralympian on the planet’ and holds four Paralympic gold medals and three world records. He tops the world rankings for the T13 category of the 100m and believes he can go even faster.

Alice Austin, Ocuco sales and marketing director, says: ‘Jason is an inspiration to us all and we look forward to welcoming him home with, hopefully, another gold medal. We wish him the best of luck on September 9.’
