​Zeiss Vision Care marketing and communications director leaves company

Zeiss Vision Care marketing and communications director Peter Robertson has decided to leave the optical industry to pursue new challenges and adventures.

Robertson has worked for the company since 1991, having been involved in the local implementation of the mergers between American Optical and Sola in 2000, and American Optical, Sola and Zeiss in 2005.

Zeiss Vision Care UK & Ireland general manager Andrew Leong-Son said: ‘Peter has been a backbone of our business for the past 27 years. His professionalism, leadership and expert optical market knowledge have been instrumental in driving our business and growing the awareness of the Zeiss brand locally.

‘The entire organisation will miss him, but we wish Peter the very best with all of his future plans to travel and explore new opportunities and we congratulate him on his richly deserved independence and leisure.’

Robertson will be succeeded as marketing communications director by Lindsay Filmer, who has a background leading FMCG, food and consumer goods marketing departments.
